Last night, one of my oldest friends and myself celebrated her 32nd birthday….we have known each other since we were eleven….it’s be many years of birthdays. In the past it was sleep overs and waterslide parties. Last night it was dinner, a movie and midnight maddness at Ikea! We managed to get to Ikea at 10 pm last night. Silly me. I couldn’t imagine who else would be out so late at night to shop on a Friday night in June. Apparently, the city was out to shop late at night! The parking lot was so full, I was almost in the next stores parking. There were so many people there it was crazy busy. There were so many families there I was amazed. The kids were all great too. No screamers….that’s because my kids were at home in bed! I don’t think I would bring my toddler out to shop so late at night, but many were there, sleeping in carts. I shoped alot. I got some great deals. It was so nice to take my time. To feel things. To think. Just think. Not to wipe, clean, feed, water, entertain all while thinking. We stayed the full two hours until closing. The lines were long. The drive home in the wee hours of the next morning was beautiful. The moon was so huge and yellow in the sky.
Unloading the boxes from the van is S’s job today. I don’t know how we managed to shove a book shelf, a patio set and various other smaller items in my van, but we did it. Now, we just have to unpack and assembe. Should be fun. I think the girls and I will go to the splash park and let S do the assembly.
I am happy to have a friend from all those years ago that is still in my life. She knows me better than my husband does I am sure. She is my best friend from the day, and I love her.
